Information on latest stimulus payments.
On December 27, 2020, President Trump signed the latest COVID-19 relief package that provides for additional stimulus payments. Additional legislative activity is anticipated, which may or may not change the amount of or qualifications for relief payments. We understand how important it is to you to receive these funds quickly and have peace of mind about the process. We’ll continue to share updates as information is released. Here’s what we know so far:
The Internal Revenue Service and the Treasury Department will begin delivering a second round of Economic Impact Payments as part of the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act of 2021 to millions of Americans who received the first round of payments earlier this year.
The initial direct deposit payments may begin arriving as early as December 30, 2020 for some and will continue into next week. Paper checks will begin to be mailed Wednesday, December 30, 2020.
The IRS emphasizes that there is no action required by eligible individuals to receive this second payment. Some Americans may see the direct deposit payments as pending or as provisional payments in their accounts before the official payment date of January 4, 2021. The IRS reminds taxpayers that the payments are automatic.
The bill includes direct stimulus payments of $600 to individuals, $1,200 per couple, and $600 per child if claimed as a dependent. To get the best information on your eligibility and the amount of your payment, we recommend you visit the official IRS website at www.irs.gov.
Make sure that you know your username and password for Online and Mobile Banking. If you are receiving your payment via direct deposit, Online and Mobile Banking will allow you to check your accounts 24/7 to know when your payment has been received.
We encourage Peoples Exchange Bank Online Banking or Mobile App users to set up and/or utilize deposit alerts so that you can rely on the notification for when your deposit is available.
If you will receive a paper check, mobile deposit through our Mobile App is a great way to deposit your check without making a trip to the bank. You can also deposit at most Peoples Exchange Bank ATMs.
Educate yourself on potential stimulus payment fraud. If you suspect fraudulent activity, call us at 800-364-3631.
